Location: This role could be in Fishers, Fort Wayne, Indiana, or Louisville, Kentucky. This is not a remote position. (We provide relocation accommodations)
Role & Responsibilities:
A mechanical or electrical estimator in the commercial construction industry is responsible for analyzing project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare detailed estimates for mechanical and electrical systems. This role involves assessing costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services, as well as collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate bidding. The estimator must maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, pricing trends, and building codes to deliver competitive and comprehensive estimates that align with project budgets and timelines. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in estimation software are essential for success in this position.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in large-scale vertical commercial construction estimating. BA/BS/AS or other accredited degree may substitute for up to 4 years of experience. Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and presentation skills. Preferred experience with preconstruction estimating.
