Our Auto Appraisal team is currently seeking an Inside Auto Appraiser for our Worcester, MA location.
This is a full time, non-exempt role with a hybrid work arrangement of 2 days in office, 3 days from home.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for all aspects of the appraisal process for damage included but not limited to automobiles, trucks, motor homes, travel trailers, motorcycles, and specialty equipment. Responsibilities include virtual inspection of vehicle damage, written documentation of damage, appraisal of repair costs, and negotiation of cost-effective repair alternatives according to Company guidelines, entry of appraisal into Company system, and timely completion of assignments.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
Perform virtual inspections of vehicle damage as part of claim adjusting process; may handle inspections associated with high complex claims with minimal oversight
Prepare written repair cost estimates, applying Company guidelines and State regulations and exercising independent judgement when warranted
Negotiate cost-effective repair figures according to Company guidelines and State regulations
Perform timely supplemental virtual inspections of additional damage discovered the course of repair
Process total loss estimates and evaluations through virtual inspections. Responsible for determination of actual case values for total loss vehicles
Compare loss description to estimate of damages
May be required to perform physical inspections at a drive-in location or in the field occasionally
May be required to assist with reviews on assignments completed by DRP or IAs.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
Typically has 2-4 years automotive-related and/or appraisal experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Willingness to obtain Appraiser license
State CT, MA, NY, RI, VT, NC, SC, DE, PA Appraiser license
Must be flexible with respect to work scheduling issues or changes that may arise unexpectedly due business needs or demands
Possesses strong customer service skills and behaviors
Ability to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups.
Shows a willingness to adapt to new or different changing situations, requirements, or priorities
Familiarity with one or more Collision Estimating systems (CCC, Mitchell, Audatex)
