The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a Assistant Director of Pharmacy to join our team! The Assistant Director of Pharmacy will plan, organize, and direct all functions of the Harris Center Pharmacy services. Assure all legal, regulatory, and accrediting requirements are maintained at the best demonstrated practice. Assure all pharmacy revenue management and pharmacy budget are tracking through the system properly. This position is responsible for ensuring optimal revenue capture, integrity, and reliability for technical and professional based billing systems in both inpatient and ambulatory pharmacy areas and other clinical areas as assigned. Maintain a professional presence throughout the agency including communications with pharmacy staff and Harris Center leadership. Assure pharmacy services and activities are carried out to meet goals and standards of the pharmacy programs and the agency.

Your Role In Action
- Works with and supports Director of Pharmacy Programs to set the strategic direction and ensures that each pharmacy of the assigned district achieves budgeted profit, unit cost, bed retention and other goals
- Oversees daily operations of pharmacy programs, processes for drug recalls, monthly medication area inspections and having supporting documentation.
- Participate in Harris Center committee meetings necessary to enhance practice and patient care.
- Address actionable items from Accreditation Bodies and regulatory agencies standards related to pharmacy.
- Collaborates with sites, managed care, finance, compliance and other areas of the revenue cycle to decrease denials, ensure optimal clean claim rates and ensure compliant billing practices. This manager will also partner with other areas that have an indirect impact on charge integrity including but not limited to coding, health information management, and utilization management.
- Support process for medication charges, and that they are accurately and timely posted to accounts.
- Leads charging and revenue related projects, workflow changes, review areas of risk, assess financial impact of changes and outline workflow procedures.
- Conducts staff meetings as appropriate and requested by director.
- Perform special projects as requested.
- Maintain and/or cover as Pharmacist In Charge and/or pharmacist as defined by pharmacy structure and resource needs.
- Other related duties and work scheduled as assigned to assure continuity of service within The Harris Center
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelors degree in pharmacy or PharmD required
- Must be a “good standing” licensed Pharmacist in the state of Texas.
- 2 years related community/clinic pharmacy experience.
- 3 years of pharmacy financial reporting and revenue cycle experience is required.
- Prior management experience required.
- Hospital or health system pharmacy experience preferred
- Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance issues related to Medication management.
- Ability to develop, implement and lead all aspects of pharmacy operation.
- Extensive data analysis and navigation of reports using spreadsheets, databases, pivot tables including financial information, pharmacy claims data and other pharmacy or medication related reporting.
- Ability to see, hear, write, and speak clearly to communicate with customers and health care professionals.
- Excellent planning, organizing and leadership skills.
- Ability to work on call or be in an on-call rotation.
