What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Coordinator position at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD?
The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a relief Nursing Coordinator to join our team! The Nursing Coordinator (NC) serves under the general direction of the Nurse Director. The Nursing Coordinator works collaboratively with various levels of nursing staff to deliver a combination of clerical tasks and administrative support for MH Nursing Services. The NC will input, organize, and manage a variety of data sources in support of nursing service delivery and improvement projects. The NC will support existing nursing operations through maintaining and updating spreadsheets and databases and generating reports for review/approval by MH Nursing Services leadership.
Your role in action:
- Maintains databases and spreadsheets tracking Nursing services metrics and activities for reporting and auditing purposes (performance improvement, scheduling/staffing, record keeping, etc.).
- Ensures accuracy of work produced through proofing and correcting documents and related forms prior to submission to Nurse leadership.
- Maintains files according to organizational and departmental procedures on an ongoing or scheduled basis.
- Maintains effective workflow of assigned area. Works to resolve administrative issues and flags that require immediate attention of Nurse leadership.
- Offers suggestions for increasing efficiency in workflow and completes performance
- improvement initiatives as appropriate or assigned.
- Maintains flexibility and adapts to the changing needs of Nursing Department.
- Works closely with and assists the PES Nursing Leadership performing additional
- administrative duties as assigned.
- Maintains professional behavior through meeting the Agency Standards of Behavior.
- Complies with all Agency and policy, procedures, and operational guidelines
What qualifications will you need:
Education:
- High School Diploma or General Education diploma.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a community mental health center or local mental health authority program creating, developing, and reporting clinical, program, and/or compliance data to stakeholders.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in program assistance in a developing or established program.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be able to demonstrate advanced computer skills including data entry, word processing, excel spreadsheets and other agency required competencies.
- Familiarity with MHMRA software applications, especially Anasazi, MS Access, MS Excel.
- Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Deliver professional customer service in a collaborative environment with many stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in high demand environment
