Are you ready to take your career to the next level? End User Services at The Hartford is on the lookout for a highly skilled and motivated Manager of IT Engineering to join our dynamic team. This role is at the heart of advancing our Teams Communications strategy and managing a diverse portfolio of over 20 innovative products and services. From back-office voice solutions to on-demand video, conferencing hardware, and team collaboration tools, you'll be at the forefront of transforming the way we communicate and collaborate.
As the Manager of IT Engineering, you'll lead a high-performing team of engineers dedicated to creating and enhancing cutting-edge communications, voice conferencing, and AV solutions. You'll be responsible for developing and executing our Teams Communications services strategy and business plans, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve. Additionally, you'll oversee the creation and management of capital investment budgets for our teams' communication services.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office Hartford, CT 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the IT Engineering team in designing, engineering, implementing, and supporting collaboration initiatives.
- Drive the advancement of our ITIL service management framework to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Utilize Scrum/Kanban methodologies for effective work management and resource allocation.
- Create and manage capital investment budgets for IT projects and initiatives.
- Oversee the management of budgets for teams' communication services.
- Collaborate with various departments, including Real Estate, Infrastructure, Corporate Communications, Contact Center Solutions, and Vendor Partners, to deliver cutting-edge capabilities.
- Lead the team in designing enhancements to existing services and developing innovative solutions to business challenges.
- Ensure the stability of collaboration services and identify ways to improve the employee experience through proactive support channels.
- Engineer new service management integrations into new and existing collaboration services and technologies.
- Take ownership of IT services, ensuring their stability, performance, and continuous improvement. Drive operational excellence in support and management of the services provided by the team.
- Evangelize the capabilities and services that the IT Engineering team provides, offering guidance and consulting to users to explain and offer technical solutions to business problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering/Science or a similar field.
- 5 years of leadership experience managing IT resources in engineering, support, or consulting roles.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, Enterprise Voice, Direct Routing, and other collaboration technologies.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and teach team members new technologies and changes to existing services.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead research efforts to resolve multi-service technical issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various departments and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage operating budgets and develop and execute capital and project plans.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$136,800 - $205,200The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
