What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Compliance Officer position at The Hatch Group, Inc.?
Position Summary: The Safety Officer shall assist in the development and implementation of a collaborative safety culture by continually monitoring and educating all company employees to ensure their safety as well as company compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
What You'll Do:
- Create, implement and enforce safety protocols in sync with company values and promote best practices in operations
- Develop and implement safety training programs for new hires and existing employees
- Monitor employee certifications and licenses including renewals and expirations
- Partner with the Fleet Manager promoting safe driving practices, defensive driving training, telematics scorecard results and at fault accident corrective actions
- Manage Personal Protective Equipment acquisition, distribution, training and discipline
- Take ownership of insurance related tasks such accident investigations, processing postaccident related documents and accident / injury reports
- Regularly perform safety audits and inspections of job sites, facilities, equipment, and materials to minimize hazards and to promote continuous improvement in processes
- Prepare and file OSHA logs and summaries
- Create and implement corrective action plans
- Attend trainings and conduct selfstudy to stay current on all federal, state, and local regulations
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a position that required safety as an integrated responsibility preferably in the construction industry
- First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain certification is required
- Ability to travel frequently throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire
- Maintain a valid driver’s license
- OSH30 preferred
