Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Memory Care Program Director has overall responsibility for the daily success of our Memory Care Program and enriching the lives of our residents. In this role, you will manage teams, systems, strategic planning, and implementation of programs and services for each level of Memory Care while maintaining regulatory compliance. Through your dynamic and expert leadership, you will help ensure residents are offered diverse and engaging life-long learning opportunities.
Essential Duties:
- This position is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing and directing person-centered care programs and events for residents with Alzheimer’s and other related types of dementia. The Memory Care Program Director is responsible for providing a homelike social and physical environment; to assess resident’s strengths, to identify resident’s needs and provide services that promote each resident's highest level of physical, social, emotion and spiritual well-being. The Memory Care Program Director works under the direction of the Executive Director and in conjunction with the Health and Wellness Director and all department heads. In addition, they are responsible for the selection, training and supervision of Memory Care team members.
- Dementia programs to meet the individual needs and interests of residents
- Coordinate scheduling, training and education for care staff and other team members regarding memory care programs/activities
- Creation of the monthly activity calendar and newsletter for Memory Care
- Carry out the planning of large and small parties and special events
- Participate in Manager on Duty rotation
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
- Three (3) years hands-on dementia/Alzheimer’s activity program facilitation experience
- Minimum two (2) years management experience in a comparable healthcare setting
- Flexibility to work and support a 24/7 community operation. This position is required to work some evenings and weekends
- Experience with Alzheimer’s patients and other dementias in residential setting preferred
- Have an excellent work history with a pleasant and friendly demeanor with an outgoing personality
- Committed to working with a great team and making our residents happy daily
- Must be able to obtain a Driver’s License
- Strong computer skills
