POSITION SUMMARY
Perform diagnostics, maintenance, installation and repairs to mechanical equipment and systems; Provide services to ensure efficient operation of equipment, including but not limited to preventive maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to mechanical equipment and systems
- Perform extensive troubleshooting of HVAC equipment and associated systems
- Plumbing - Responsible for installing and/or repairing pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal in commercial and industrial buildings
- Refrigeration - Ability to trouble shoot, perform service and PM's on mechanical systems such as chillers, boilers, fans systems, refrigeration, and basic controls
- Electrical - Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and electronic maintenance techniques; knowledge of correct and safe usage of electrical and electronic test equipment and electrical codes (NEC, ISA, and ASME)
- Kitchen Equipment - Properly troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs commercial cooking equipment
- Appliance repair, fixtures and equipment
- General maintenance including door, window, floor, wall and exterior repairs or replacement
- Grounds care including snow removal, property maintenance and general labor duties
- Follows safe work practices and accident prevention procedures
- Maintains neat and orderly work areas and vehicles, along with accurate parts and tool inventory
- Provides technical support for staff and other technicians
- Consults with manufacturers, sales reps, dealers, and customers
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Must have High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have EPA certification
- Prefer candidates with relevant experience
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Ability to perform operations using weight measurement, volume and distance
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Must be able to maintain clean work environment
- Ability to work flexible hours and to work independently
- Ability to read blueprints, control sequences and have a clear understanding of codes and regulations.
- Ability to read schematics, job instructions, and general correspondence
- Ability to skillfully and safely utilize electrical testing instruments
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
- Moderate to heavy lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds without assistance)
- Requires walking, standing, driving, sitting, squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, and turning for the better part of 8 hours
- Must be able to use hand tools and power tools
- Working Conditions: Several factors, such as dirt, dust, oil, grease, heat fumes, noise, or dampness existing continuously to a marked degree. Exposure to weather for periods of time.
