Scheduler/Biller

The Hearing Doctor is a thriving audiology private practice in Jasper, Indiana. Everyday, we strive to provide elite hearing heath care options to patients thru the lifespan, including children and aging adults. We take pride in helping find treatment options to help every person hear their best.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Patient Scheduler and Billing Coordinator to join our clinic. Potential candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, some understanding of the insurance billing process and managing medical records preferred (opportunity for training included). The following hiring characteristics are a must:

• High school diploma
• Punctual and reliable attendance
• Ability to converse and welcome patients into the clinic, conveying friendly atmosphere from first contact
• Maintains a high level of professionalism
• Engages with patients in a caring, respectful manner
• Coachable and seeks to grow, accepting feedback constructively
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties
• Basic computer and Internet skills (i.e., browser use, Google)
• Ability to communicate with other clinic staff yet work independently
• Maintain organized documentation

Responsibilities include:

• Intake phone calls, scheduling new and reoccurring patients
• Utilize scheduling criteria based on appointment type
• Distribute patient forms and input pertinent changes
• Collect and record payments
• Verify insurance coverage based on clinic contracts
• Prepare and submit accurate billing claims to insurance via portal
• Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies
• Communicate with healthcare affiliates
