We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate Summer Camp Counselors to facilitate a fun-filled program of engaging and safe educational experiences for campers aged 7-13 years. As part of The Henry Ford’s Learning & Engagement team, you will have the opportunity to build life-long memories for our campers and yourself! Essential Responsibilities
- Work with lead counselor and volunteers to deliver a fun and engaging daily pre-designed program
- Supervises campers to ensure their safety, learning and general well-being
- Understand and apply all policies and emergency procedures to maintain safety and wellbeing of campers
- Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including daily attendance and incident reports
- Participates in maintaining camp supplies, camp base and daily schedules
Your Qualifications
- 18 years of age of older
- 2 years’ college preferred, ideally in fields of education, science, history or related field
Additional Requirements & Important Dates
- Must be available to work camp training (could be scheduled on Saturdays), prep week, 5 weeks of camp, and 2 clean up days - June 7th-August 5th, (off week of July 4th)
- New employee training is mandatory at the end of May
- Camp hours are 6:45am – 6:15pm; must be available to work M-F shifts of 4-8 hours
- Camp training is required (can be on Saturdays)
- Counselors are often outdoors and will be active all day – must have stamina and a sunny disposition
