The Heritage at Lowman Retirement Community is a faith-based non-profit organization looking for compassionate, caring professionals who dedicate themselves to providing quality care and promoting the highest in customer service. Located in the Midlands of South Carolina near the shores of beautiful Lake Murray, the Heritage at Lowman is a growing, robust community of active senior adults.
We are currently recruiting for a Social Worker to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting resident(s) and family members in adjusting to the placement of the resident(s) in a group living type setting due to extended illness, required and constant treatment, or other physical/mental conditions that necessitates the resident(s) being in a "confined" setting, while allowing each resident to achieve their maximum potential and continue to have a quality of life.
- Regularly meets with Resident(s) and/or family members to establish a relationship to assess and deal with problems/concerns that may develop or exist, now or in the future.
- Informs and assists each resident in exercising their "right" and must function as an "advocate" in the event that the resident is unable to function on their own.
- Continually offers on-going individual and/or group-counseling sessions to address the social and emotional needs of the residents on a timely basis
- Observes, records and communicates to the appropriate sources, all needs, progress, behavioral changes, attitudes or conditions which may influence the resident(s) treatment plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work
- Must have valid SC LMSW license
- Must have a good background in Gerontology, understand and communicate well in times of stress for others.
- MSW preferred
