Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Answer, screen, and direct phone calls in a timely and professional manner, taking and relaying messages as necessary.
- Utilize the internal two-way radio communication system to respond quickly to emergency requests and support staff across campus.
- Assist in the inventory and preparation of youths' personal items, ensuring that luggage returned from visits is checked for contraband items.
- Receive and distribute mailed items to the appropriate personnel on campus in an organized manner.
- Maintain the office supply inventory, ensuring that supplies are well-stocked, and report order requests to the Supervisor.
- Perform clerical duties such as copying, scanning, and completing letters or forms as requested by other departments.
- Keep the Communication Center neat, organized, and professional, ensuring that it is always ready for use.
- Participate in monthly department meetings, staying updated on training expectations and company goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor to support the daily operations of the Communication Center.
- Minimum 6 months of experience as a front desk clerk, operator, or secretary required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) required.
- Strong typing skills, with the ability to type at least 60 words per minute.
- Proficiency with computer programs, particularly Microsoft Office Suite and Google.
- Technical proficiency in operating phone systems, copy machines, and other office equipment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle phone calls and radio communications professionally.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, especially when managing inventory and clerical tasks.
- Ability to multitask effectively, balancing phone calls, clerical duties, and emergency response situations.
- Capability to maintain a professional and organized work environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while being part of a team.
