What are the responsibilities and job description for the LSW or LPC position at The Heritage of Hannah Neil?
We are currently hiring for a therapist (LSW or LPC) for our Heritage of Hannah Neil residential facility. The Heritage of Hannah Neil offers a healthy environment for boys and girls ages 5-12 that have experienced trauma to live, learn, and grow in a residential treatment program. Our mission is to create new chances, new choices, and new hope for traumatized children and their families by breaking the vicious cycle of child abuse and addressing the self-destructive behaviors brought on by experiencing severe trauma in childhood. This therapist will be supported by a team including other therapists and a clinical director.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides therapy to children in group and individual sessions.
- Provides diagnostic assessments.
- Develops individual Treatment Plans in collaboration with clients, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team and providing treatment plan updates in accordance with agency and licensing/accrediting body standards.
- Assures quality care by collaborating with the legal guardian in facilitating referrals to community resources to ensure appropriate linkage to community services upon discharge.
Requirements:
- License/Certification: LSW (Licensed Social Worker) or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor). Preferred: LPCC or LISW
- Bachelor in Social Work or Master in Counseling or Social Work
- Prior experience working with kids/children providing therapy is desired.
- Experience with trauma informed treatment is preferred
- Experience working with children with behavioral problems.
- Employee must be able to demonstrate knowledge of principles of brief, solution-focused therapy, interventions with youth with behavior disorders, and of principles of typical and atypical adolescent development.
- This position requires candidates to pass Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training
