The High Companies is looking for an Insurance intern to join the Accoutning Legal Department team located at our Corporate Office in Lancaster, PA!
The Insurance Intern will assist the Senior Insurance Business Partner and the Legal Department with a variety of projects. The Insurance Intern will work on the insurance premium audits and allocations. Coordinate the gathering of information from different SBUs to complete the audit package. Monitor vendor insurance certificate activity on MyCOI portals. Document work process flows and procedures of certificate tracking.
Special projects include:
- Sharepoint integration for insurance policies and insurance compliance
- 2025 Minimum Insurance Requirements of vendors/tenants
- Update/Rollforward excel spreadsheets for insurance premium audit, allocations and budgeting
- Coordinate obtaining lender letters from brokers for premiums paid
- Update bond lists for open and closed bonds
- Contract review of insurance requirements (working with Contracts Paralegal)
- Claims management support (working with Claims Senior Paralegal)
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, TRAINING, AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in Risk Management, Finance or related discipline.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications; such as Excel, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Teams and Word
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail, flexibility, and good communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Creating reports, flowcharts and/or dashboards for documenting processes and procedures
- Required maturity and a high level of professionalism coupled with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exposure to the different insurance lines of Property and Casualty coverage
- Work in a professional office environment.
- Working on a laptop with Microsoft applications and other software/portal platforms
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Utilize verbal and written communication skills
