We are seeking an Experienced Lift Operator to join our team in Savannah GA. Hinckley offers competitive wages, training and full benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401k with an employer match, and paid time off.
The operator will assist in coordinating and conduction of all hauling, launching, and moving of vessels in the yard. Must hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License, supervises and performs general yard and heavy equipment duties under the supervision of the General Manager. Candidate understands yard logistics and overall goals and expectations and performs duties efficiently to schedule and budget. Candidate is also responsible for supervising team.
Essential Duties:
- Train yard crew employees in the safe and proper operation of all equipment and the proper method of blocking boats.
- Safely operating multiple types of heavy equipment to move vessels and materials to designated work, storage and sales areas
- Responsible for coordination of and removal of vessels from water, using movable lift crane or marine railway; moving to and from storage and positioning/securing correctly according to size, weight and weight distribution.
- Understands tide schedules and coordinates yard activity accordingly.
- Handles lines and has on-the water and boat handling experience.
- Manages yard space allocation and coordinates workloads with all business units throughout the yard.
- May operate fork truck and other heavy equipment (e.g., travel lift).
- Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations during all yard activity and maintains safe, clean work area.
- Responsible for pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection and safety of vessel and reporting unsafe or mechanical issues to general manager.
- Records load information, hours of service, distance traveled and fuel expenditure and maintains accurate log books.
- Maintenance of all yard equipment. This is to include scheduling periodic maintenance to fit into our production schedule.
- Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.
Requirements
- 3 years’ experience with marine travel lift, launch duties, forklift and other heavy-duty equipment in a boat yard/yacht environment.
- Fork lift training and or certification
- Ability to communicate in a polite and clear manor in high stress situations
- CDL Driver’s License
Salary : $27 - $30
