What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at The Hiring Advisors?
The world’s largest provider of hospitality and industrial supplies is looking to hire a Division Controller to add onto their team in Las Vegas. This division controller will join an industry leader poised for major expansion and will get a the chance to influence financial strategy, participate in M&A integration efforts, and be part of a high-performing team in a company that’s setting new standards in the industry.
The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following.
- Responsible for month-end and year-end closing of all plant financials, preparing journal entries, and working with business partners to ensure accurate financials are submitted to the group within the close deadline.
- Responsible for preparing and submitting monthly KPI data.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
- Oversee regional month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and adjustments.
- Participate in the financial due diligence and integrating efforts for M&A transactions.
- Provide detailed variance analysis to explain deviations from budgets and forecasts.
- Working with both finance and operational teams to deliver reporting and analysis to business leaders. Provide advice and counsel business leaders on the financial impacts of business decisions.
- Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and compiling data from both accounting and operational systems necessary for monthly reporting.
- Review balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by team.
- Actively participate with corporate finance and other Regional Controllers on initiatives to continually review, streamline, standardize, and enhance processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 10 years of progressive experience within the distribution industry, with at least 2 years in public accounting.
- Big 4 public accounting experience with a CPA is required.
- Ability to function as a financial business partner.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Deep understanding of financial reporting, ERP systems and internal controls.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
This is an onsite position in Las Vegas, NV.
Compensation up to $200,000 bonus relocation assistance if required.
