Site Director/Admin Office

Oversees organization’s main office reception area and functions.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • * 5 Star Learning Center credentialing –
  • Responsible for maintaining your site as a 5 STAR Learning Center. * Business management –
  • Site Directors run all aspects of their facilities, from setting up security systems to overseeing the program’s budget. Along with being organized and detail-oriented, they must also have working knowledge of state and federal daycare laws and requirements.
  • Ensure your site is operating effectively; maintain licensing, safety, and educational standards. Ensuring the facility is safe, clean, and upkept for children and employees.
  • Classroom experience – Site Directors know how to handle a room full of children and are well versed in tracking childhood development, establishing classroom structure, and creating curriculum
  • First aid –Director must have knowledge of safety regulations regarding children and stay up to date on first aid protocol for the age ranges at the facility.
  • Managing people – Lead and supervise a team of teachers to create unique and engaging classroom experiences, leverage and develop “best in class” educators to be passionate and committed professionals
  • It’s the job of the Director to keep staff motivated, support staff, and resolve conflicts in the workplace. Supervision of: Lead Teacher, Teacher Assistant, Floater, Cook, Environmental Services, Transportation for Site.
  • Communication skills – Site Directors are the face of their centers, so they must possess excellent communication skills and feel confident giving tours to prospective parents, writing newsletters, and running staff meetings and retreats. Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children. Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, school and district leaders, state licensing authorities, community contacts and corporate partners. * Bilingual abilities may be required at some programs.

Greet and Assist Visitors

  • Greet, assist and direct all visitors in a courteous manner. Ensure all visitors sign in and out.
  • Post and update information on bulletin boards.
  • Keep area clean and clear of obstructions that might impede traffic flow and safety considerations.

Administrative Duties

  • Run daily attendance report.
  • Daily data entry of eligibility applications including recording and mailing requests for eligibility applications.
  • Maintain office equipment (laminator, postage, folding machine, copy machine, etc.) Order supplies as needed and be proficient in the use of office equipment.
  • Attend monthly meetings.
  • Assist with scheduling of rooms.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills/Experience/Documentation Required

  • Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must have a bachelor’s in early childhood education or an Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with continuing education with the ability to develop, engage, and inspire a team (preferred)
  • Maintains the State In-Service requirements (CYFD 22.2.2)
  • Must have completed 45-hour class or equivalent
  • Complete knowledge of all State Licensing Requirements and Regulations.
  • Complete knowledge of CACFP requirements.
  • A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws governing childcare.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English. (Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.)
  • Two years of related childcare experience required
  • Two years of supervisory experience required. Previous supervisory experience required or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency

Physical/Mental Abilities and Processes

  • Will frequently lift or move average weight; as in lifting, carrying, and holding infants and children. * Will occasionally lift or move average weight in awkward or difficult positions.
  • Required to stand up to 75% of the workday
  • Must be able to interact with children, their parents, and the teachers on a daily basis.
  • Aid as needed
  • Monitor teachers to ensure they are performing all job duties correctly, following all state regulations, and conforming to all center policies and procedures.
  • Meet the emotional, social, cognitive, and physical needs of the children, their parents, and the staff. * Encourage assistants to contribute to curriculum planning
  • Coordinate field trips
