Position Overview

The Holton Company, LLC, a family-owned firm, seeks an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with expertise and accomplishments in trust and estate management. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with intricate tax laws, fostering multi-generational wealth preservation, and managing strategic financial initiatives. The CPA will oversee trust structures, provide expert guidance on estate planning, and support the family’s legacy and philanthropic goals. This position includes the unique opportunity to be part of the C-level leadership team overseeing the transitioning of ownership of a leading surgical business owned by the Holton Company that is scheduled to occur over the next 12 to 24 months. The incumbent will play a critical role in driving this high-impact process and shaping its successful execution.

Key Responsibilities

Trust Administration

  • Manage the administration of all family trusts, ensuring adherence to U.S. estate and trust regulations.
  • Conduct detailed reviews with trustees and beneficiaries, providing actionable financial advice.
  • Develop efficient systems for trust reporting, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

Tax Strategy and Compliance

  • Deliver advanced financial modeling to support wealth preservation initiatives across generations.
  • Evaluate and recommend investment opportunities that align with family objectives and risk profiles.
  • Innovate strategies to enhance financial returns while minimizing exposure to risks.

Wealth Preservation and Growth

  • Collaborate with external advisors to develop and execute long-term wealth preservation strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate investment opportunities, including those related to PVG, ensuring alignment with family objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Identify innovative investment strategies to maximize returns while minimizing risks.

Estate and Legacy Planning

  • Regularly update estate plans to reflect family objectives and changes in laws.
  • Provide frameworks for philanthropic endeavors and initiatives to bolster family legacies.
  • Manage planning for distributions related to family investments, such as PVG, and other key assets.

Financial Reporting and Oversight

  • Ensure comprehensive reporting on all family assets, liabilities, and trust-related activities.
  • Oversee liquidity management and allocate resources effectively for investments and philanthropy.
  • Prepare thorough financial statements and visual presentations for family and stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA certification required; advanced degrees preferred).
  • Experience: 4 years in financial management, trust/estate management, and investment strategy.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of U.S. estate and tax law.
  • Proven track record in managing multi-generational family wealth.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong organizational, interpersonal, and team leadership capabilities.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct financial modeling and assess new investment opportunities.
