Position Purpose
The Sr. Planning and Replenishment Manager serves as a business partner to the merchants for Planning and Replenishment for a Merchandising department by maximizing revenues and gross margin dollars while reducing inventory investment. This is accomplished by providing the highest levels of services and in-stock to the stores, actively contributing to decisions on receipt flow, timing and quantities, and assortment breadth and depth. Advises on the timing and depth of markdowns in order to optimize gross margin return on inventory (GMROI). This position will lead a team that will be accountable for the successful execution of planning and forecasting of trade merchandise (imports and domestic). This leader is directly responsible for the consistent execution of common processes and algorithms that are used to effectively manage inventory performance. His / Her team will conduct analysis, stock balancing, ordering, finalize inventory requirements, generate orders, monitor / prioritize merchandise flow, and review in stock performance for multiple billions of dollars of inventory, thousands of SKU' s, and sales responsibility of more than 5 billion dollars annually.

Key Responsibilities
- 25% Effectively execute all inventory planning activities using metrics to track and improve performance
- 35% Develop and implement process & system improvements related to replenishment activities. Provide functional core competence in the specification of enhanced replenishment algorithms and systems.
- 25% Strategy Development/Planning Partner with functional and operating business partners to drive overall business specific strategies. Key strategic themes focus on delivering consistent, repeatable processes to optimize inventory position, profit enhancement and operating effectiveness.
- 15% Build strong relationships with business partners and actively support cross-functional initiatives to drive improved overall business performance

- Accountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors/managers and for all personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

- Previous retail experience in inventory mgmt
- Understanding of inventory mgmt principles
- APICS Certified
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
