Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to residents, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any changes in health or behavior.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for all residents, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Assist with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring residents as necessary.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in resident conditions to the nursing staff.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes or personal care homes is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and best practices in resident care.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to assist individuals with varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities.
- Ability to lift and support residents safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques.
- Familiarity with memory care principles is a plus.
