What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Front Desk Receptionist position at The Hormone Restoration Center?
At the office of Dr. Richard Chern we provide customized hormone therapy for men and women. We also treat opiate dependency. We are looking for someone personable, energetic, and willing to put in hard work. We are a small office but we are growing rapidly.
Starting pay is dependent on experience. After 90 days a performance evaluation will be conducted and an appropriate raise will be determined at that time.
Our work hours are the same every week with 3-4 weeks of closure per year. (1 week during Thanksgiving, 1 during Christmas & New Year's). Monday - Thursday, off on Fridays, 8:30AM - 4:30PM.
Medical front office experience is strongly preferred.
Some knowledge of medical terminology is preferred, but not required.
The primary responsibility of the Front Office Receptionist is to manage and control the front desk area by welcoming patients, referring them to the appropriate check-in method, taking payment, and coordinating directly with the providers and nurse.
The F/O Coordinator interacts with the patient and ensures that check-in and check-out is carried out accurately, friendly and efficiently. Answers general questions about policies, procedures, and services. This is the first point of contact for our patients and top customer service skills should be employed to ensure that the patient experience is positive.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet clients, schedule appointments, take payment for services
- Answer phone calls and respond to client emails in a timely fashion
- Entrusted with handling confidential information, material and abide by HIPAA guidelines
- Escort patients to and from treatment rooms, distribute health information, and collect lab specimens
- Ensures all new-patient forms and charts are completed prior to consultation and reviews medical history
- Reviews instructions with patients
- Manage records and information
- Balance daily logs and make daily deposits
- Provide assistance to doctor as needed with clients
- Maintain cleanliness of office and replenish office supplies
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
- Maintains customer-service orientation at all times.
- Records billing information of services rendered.
- Assist MA with extra duties including cleaning and room set-ups
Other Training, Skills, Certifications, & Key Competencies:
- High School graduate
- 2 years prior medical experience (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (required)
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Ability to interact positively with other staff members
- Working knowledge of electronic health records and MS Office (word, excel) etc.
- Experience with Athena EMR
