POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for timely, accurate, and complete patient registration. Registers and discharges patients appropriately from the Medhost EMR system. Collects and posts patient Point of Service payments and provides notification of patient arrivals to appropriate units.

1. REGISTRAR GENERAL COMPETENCIES
1.01* Completes timely patient registration ensuring required billing and demographic information is complete and accurate.
1.02* Notifies appropriate department and/or personnel of patient arrivals in a timely manner.
1.03* Ensures patient admission forms are complete and accurate with all required signatures.
1.04* Assigns correct admission source, patient type, patient service, and discharge dispositions in Stockell.
1.05* Performs accurate patient payment collection posting and reconciliation.
1.06* Conducts timely charge entry and reconciliation.
1.07* Reconciles daily patient arrivals to schedules and reports.
1.08 Cooperates with others to meet department requirements and goals.
1.09 Performs other required duties in a timely, professional and efficient manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years in hospital registration experience preferred. Experienced in a medical customer service environment required. Experience in handling and balancing cash required. Able to operate common computer software systems, utilizing both hospital and business software.
