JOB SUMMARY:
To assist the pharmacist in the daily functions of the pharmacy department. Compound medication orders and package appropriately and accurately for patient delivery. Maintain appropriate medication and supply inventory.
GENERAL SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Strong written and verbal skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
- May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
- May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
- May be required to change from one task to another or different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
- Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
- May be scheduled as needed including overtime.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS & DEMANDS:
- Have near normal hearing: Hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice.
- Have near normal vision: Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors.
- Have good manual dexterity.
- Have good eye-hand foot coordination.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion.
- Continuously within shift (67-100%): Standing, Walking.
- Frequently within shift (34-66%): Bending/Stooping, Pushing/Pulling, Lift/carry up to 20lbs, Lift/carry > 20 lbs. with assistance.
- Occasionally within shift (1-33%): Sitting, Climbing, Twist at waist, Lift/Carry > 50 lbs. with assistance, Reaching above shoulder.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
- Responsible for answering phones and doors.
- Assist in pulling out dates from pharmacy.
- Assist in stock replenishment and maintaining inventory of supplies and medications.
- Fills prescriptions without errors and without delay.
- Receives training of 340B inventory regulations and maintains compliance.
- Filling Rxs/processing/counting/labeling/preparing medications/supplies for delivery, etc…
- Receive prescriptions/gather and process patient information
- Computer processing/adding patients, doctors, drugs, etc…
- Calling Doctor’s office for refills, patient/Rx information –clarification, etc...
- Checking in Rx orders for patient/calling on shorts, overages, order errors, outdates, credits, out of stocks etc. (including the out-front orders when necessary
- Stock Rx dept. daily with supplies/bags/vials, etc...
- Daily orders for inventory/stock.
- Receives training in aseptic technique and performs duties and responsibilities of an IV technician.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and business-related information
- Ensure refrigerator temperature/humidity is checked/recorded daily and clean room cleaning is performed in accordance with USP 7978/800 regulation

Qualifications
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- 1 year of pharmacy experience preferred.
- Experience in Home Infusion, Hospital, and/or 797 Clean Room Practices preferred but not required.
- Required Certifications/Licensures: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) within 12 months of hire and Technician Registration with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and vision of the organization.
- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
