Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for light maintenance duties and warehouse tasks. Assists with setting up rooms for meetings and events. Assists with light furniture moving and assembly of furniture and minor equipment as required. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the warehouse. Assist with maintaining inventory, stocking shelves, rotating stock, picking and delivering requisitions and supplies as needed.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and vision of the organization.

· Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.

· Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).

· Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.

· Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.

GENERAL SKILLS:

· Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

· Additional languages preferred.

· Strong written and verbal skills.

· Basic Computer Skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.

· May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.

· May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.

· May be required to change from one task to another or different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.

· Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.

· May be scheduled as needed including overtime.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS & DEMANDS:

· Have near normal hearing: Hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice.

· Have near normal vision: Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors.

· Have good manual dexterity.

· Have good eye-hand foot coordination.

· Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion.

· Continuously within shift (67-100%): Standing, Walking.

· Frequently within shift (34-66%): Bending/Stooping, Pushing/Pulling, Lift/carry up to 20lbs, Lift/carry > 20 lbs. with assistance.

· Occasionally within shift (1-33%): Sitting, Climbing, Twist at waist, Lift/Carry > 50 lbs. with assistance, Reaching above shoulder.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

· Assist with setting up and breaking down rooms for meetings and events.

· Assist with light moving or assembly of office furniture or equipment.

· Follow all safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe work environment.

· Perform daily walkthroughs to ensure all areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

· Perform daily equipment checks to ensure warehouse equipment is safe and operating correctly.

· Perform daily vehicle inspections for department vehicles to ensure vehicles are safe and well-maintained.

· Perform light maintenance duties as needed, including painting.

· Assist with maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies.

· Responsible for stocking received items, tagging items based on expiration dates, and removing expired items as needed.

· Ability to read inventory stock list and match to actual item; reviews and checks for accuracy, specification and need.

· Processes all approved orders and requisitions.

· Verifies all packing slips against purchase orders to receive goods.

· Ability to recognize needed changes in PAR levels due to recent usage and communicate needs to manager.

· Ability to rotate stock and ensure no items are out of date.

· Ability to organize orders and deliver in an accurate and efficient manner.

· Ability to effectively manage time and competing priorities.

· Cross-train with other department employees.

· Establish and maintain effective working relations with managers, co-workers, other employees, and vendors.

· Requires minimal supervision in performance of job duties; is a self-starter. Prioritizes responsibilities to ensure completion of duties.

· Helps to complete tasks in the Supply Chain Department that are not within the job description. Renders self-available, when responsibilities have been met, to assist in areas that may require assistance within the materials.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Maintains regulatory requirements.

· Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.

· Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.

· Wears identification when on duty; uses computerized time clock system correctly.

· Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion.

· Attends annual review and/or skills fair and department in-services, as scheduled.

· Attempts to end conversations and other interactions in a positive manner; leaves others with a good impression of the Hospital Authority of Miller County and its employees.

· Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.

· Communications the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department.

Qualifications


EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· High School diploma or equivalent is required.

· At least two years of experience working in a warehouse or in the healthcare environment preferred.

· Experience utilizing warehouse equipment such as a pallet jack or forklift preferred.
