Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Server Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the front-of-house staff, ensuring that guests have an exceptional dining experience. Responsibilities
Food Runner:
- Bring food from the kitchen to the correct tables
- Double-check orders for accuracy before delivering
- Explain dishes to guests (especially raw items for hotpot/BBQ)
- Communicate with servers about missing items or guest needs
- Assist with small refills or guest requests (extra broth, rice, etc.)
- Keep kitchen pass area clean and organized
- Handle hot items carefully and safely to avoid spills or burns
Busser:
- Clear and clean tables quickly after guests leave
- Reset tables with clean dishes, napkins, and utensils
- Refill water or help with basic guest needs when servers are busy
- Keep floors and dining areas clean (sweep if needed)
- Take dirty dishes to the dishwashing area
- Wipe down chairs, hotpot grills, and BBQ areas
- Switch the grill plate when needed – do it carefully using gloves and tools to avoid any burn hazards.
- Help maintain sanitation and safety standards
- Assist in stocking supplies (napkins, utensils, sauces, etc.)
- Support servers and runners during busy times
Skills
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with Aloha POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices is advantageous.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
