The Hotel Zamora, a beautiful boutique hotel located in St. Pete Beach, FL, is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager. With stunning views overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway and Gulf of Mexico, the Hotel Zamora provides a luxurious retreat for its guests. Besides relaxing in the beautifully appointed guest rooms, our guests experience intuitive service in our Rooftop Lounge, Sidewalk Restaurant, Private Dining, and Meeting/Banquet space. The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the leadership structure and driving the development of people, culture, and overall environment of the hotel. With proven history of hotel success, the GM ensures the effective and efficient operation of the building and is ultimately responsible for achieving guest satisfaction targets, brand standard execution and positive financial performance. In addition to hiring, training and directing new staff, the GM works closely with the local community to establish close relationships and build support for the hotel.

In addition to hiring, training and directing new staff, the GM works closely with the local community to establish close relationships and build support for the hotel.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the effective operation of all departments of the hotel and delivering high quality service to guests and associates
- Develops strategies to improve operating efficiencies
- Completes a daily walk through/inspects the interior and exterior of the hotel, and fixes any deficiencies
- Takes appropriate steps to ensure facilities meet standards
- Uses designated reports to drive revenue and profit, such as arrivals/departures, historical information, VIPs, and related information
- Controls staff payroll costs, approves schedules based on forecasted numbers, reviews, and approves weekly staff schedules, and monitors staffing levels on a daily basis
- Maintains professional relationships with outside vendors and contacts
- Maintains effective, positive, and timely communication at all levels within the hotel, with brand representatives, Sherman management, community partners, and guests/clients
- Implements and adheres to all Sherman standards and initiatives
- Keeps department management teams focused and in line with corporate culture, business goals, and initiatives
- Prepares reports as requested to evaluate work activities and improve management decision-making
- Ensures full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOPs, policies, procedures, and service standards
- Identifies potential obstacles to exemplary service
- Uses available tools and knowledge to implement ideas to maximize guest satisfaction
- Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Hospitality or Business strongly preferred.
- Five years of experience as a General Manager with strong food and beverage management experience preferred
- Knowledge of the geographic area is preferred, or demonstrated ability/process for learning new geographic areas is required.
- Significant management expertise in front office, yield management, and housekeeping.
- Working knowledge of Food & Beverage Operations, including limited-service restaurant, lounge, market, and banquets.
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction to DOSM/Sales team to maximize revenue is required.
- Proven track record of great guest services scores, meeting brand standards, and solid business references required.
- A solid understanding of profit and loss statements, as well as the ability to create, and adhere to an annual budget required.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook PowerPoint, and POS Systems.
- Must have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; Ability to communicate effectively with community partners, vendors, external parties, and across internal divisions.
