About The Role
The Howard Hughes Corporation offers a 10-week Summer Associate Program that provides a rotational curriculum within the Accounting Department, that will include Corporate Accounting, Operating Accounting, Master Planned Community Accounting, Development and Construction Accounting, as well as Tax Accounting. This position will be based in The Woodlands, TX corporate office.
The full Summer Program hosts 15 Summer Associates, both undergraduate and graduate students, from around the country to work alongside senior executives on active transactions and projects within residential, office and master planned communities. We welcome those who want to join a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and team-oriented environment where there is a steadfast commitment to the communities we build and our employees.
In addition to this rotation, our program includes special projects for the CEO and President, and opportunities in financial modeling training, networking, learning sessions as well as team-building activities. Throughout the summer, the Summer Associates have an interactive experience with all the leaders and teams throughout the company. At the conclusion of the program, the Summer Associate Class present their analysis and make real-time recommendations to HHC leadership and department managers to help drive and grow the business.
What You Will Do
Work on assigned rotations and projects within Real Estate Accounting that will include: Corporate Accounting, Operating Accounting, Master Planned Community Accounting, Development and Construction Accounting, as well as Tax Accounting.
Work on assigned special projects related to real-time business initiatives at HHC.
Interact and build relationships with senior leadership and department teams.
Conduct historical and prospective trend and market analysis.
Prepare visuals and asset maps for presentations and Investment memos.
Perform financial statement reviews to support portfolio management.
Assist In the due diligence process.
Participate in program activities Including executive speaker series, site tours, lunch and learns, manager check-Ins, networking events and final presentations.
Conduct special projects within new markets, new assets, marketing, and Culture People.
Some travel may be required.
About You
Pursuing an Accounting or Finance undergraduate or graduate degree.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
Ability to Interact with Internal and external clients professionally.
Solid PowerPoint skills
Proactive thinker with creative problem-solving approach.
Ability to work well with others, from peer to senior leadership.
