RAA is searching for a Director of Professional Education to support our mission as the go‐to source and thought leader for reinsurance who will direct the ongoing development and successful execution of the RAA's Reinsurance Education Institute programs. The Institute is the premier provider of reinsurance education for professionals within the insurance and reinsurance industry and serves as an independent source of income for the RAA. This role is responsible for effectively maintaining and increasing industry recognition of the Re-Scholar certification program, the development and delivery of Institute courses, and executing programming for RAA members. This is a pivotal position requiring demonstrated experience in professional education, including teaching adults and professionals as well as experience developing program content and preparing and executing budgets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following essential functions require superior skills and a demonstrated commitment to the success of the RAA.
- Assists in the development of the Institute's course offerings, working closely with RAA members, to offer effective and engaging curriculum.
- Evaluates the curriculum of each course to ensure comprehensive and current subject matter.
- Solicits and evaluates speakers for subject matter knowledge and effective presentation skills.
- Executes on-site and virtual programming with other Institute key team members.
- Solicits sponsorships and supports fundraising to help cover program costs and support the Institute's programs.
- Oversees and manages multiple seminar planning committees.
- Explores avenues and content for additional virtual and in-person programming.
- Drafts oral and written reports for presentation by the SVP to the RAA Board of Directors and the RAA Law, Claims and Underwriting Committees.
- Routinely networks with decision makers inside the RAA membership, in nonmember companies, and in industry to promote course attendance and solicit sponsorships.
- Regularly attends industry events to promote Institute programs, further industry knowledge, and meet with potential sponsors, speakers, and attendees.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry.
- Demonstrated experience in professional education, including teaching adults and professionals, preferred.
- Experience developing program content including preparing and executing budgets.
- Knowledge of and facilitation of continuing education requirements and credits a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, & Excel.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, editing, and grammar skills.
