DESCRIPTION OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The Human Resource Generalist supports the administration of human resources. Supports the organizational culture so that it supports the achievement of The Hume Center’s goals and promotes employee satisfaction. This position is an exciting and dynamic position in a mid-sized nonprofit mental health agency that serves Contra Costa and Alameda Counties. Come be a part of a talented main office that provides the administrative support that enables our talented licensed and unlicensed providers provide psychlogical and psychiatric treatment and early intervention services to children and adults.
MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources and two (2) years of experience.
- SHRM/PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- Knowledge and Experience in Human Resources functions, employment/labor law, healthcare law, and professional training regulations.
- Demonstrate flexibility to handle organizational needs.
- Work full time, and must be willing to work evenings/weekends as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge for representation of The Hume Center.
- Possess a valid California Driver’s license. Must be willing to use own vehicle and valid car insurance for work related travel.
- Be willing to use own cell phone to be accessible and willing to be available to receive calls for crisis and/or emergency situations with supervisors and relevant colleagues.
- Skilled in spreadsheets, writing company memos, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, and GSuite applications.
- Work full-time onsite at the Main Corporate Office.

- Records and maintains all employee information, such as personal data, compensation, benefits, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations/separations of employment.
- Onboarding and offboarding staff, ensuring TB Test, physicals, live scans, and clearance checks are performed. Also includes working with Finance, Accounting, Compliance, Information Systems, Credentialing, and Training Team to ensure all relevant tasks are accomplished.
- Processes requests for leave, workers comp, and accommodations.
- Oversee human resources website portal for staff and keep up to date.
- Maintains company organizational charts and employee directory.
- Assists with necessary Human Resource related audits (e.g. Workers Comp audit).
- Participates in meetings as needed.
- Ensure timely submission of timesheets, mileage reimbursement requests, and volunteer reimbursement requests from staff to Finance
- Organize and print recruitment materials
- Prepare team members for recruitment fairs with all materials needed; attend and support as needed
- Conducts monthly OIG, SAM, and Medi-Cal checks on all Hume providers.
- Coordinate with Finance regarding pay errors or changes in pay
- Support staff development through training by coordinating trainings, preparing materials for trainings, and tracking training completion for required trainings. Schedule staff into appropriate workforce education trainings.
- Support Finance with salary information and research and supplying or creating job descriptions for budgets, grants, and proposals.
- Tracking and reporting on staff demographics for and for Development Department
- Ensures staff are informed of follow Grievance Procedure
Trainees: Any item related listed above, in addition to the following:
- Keep a Master Trainee Recruitment Spreadsheet updated with FTEs per program and position type for proposed positions and with trainees who have accepted positions. Maintain a Master Trainee Spreadsheet with all relevant information.
- Monitor the recruitment timeline and keep Training Team and other relevant positions informed.
- Send announcements of openings to listservs, graduate schools, and other recruitment platforms
- Reviewing/ Screening Applicant applications through APPIC, CAPIC, and BAPIC.
- Scheduling Interviews, prepare all materials and surveys, and conduct feedback process
- Send out No Offer Letters and Offer Letters and track acceptance
- Creating Letters of Understanding for all trainees.
- Coordination of all school contracts completion, signing, and submission
- Coordination and record keeping of all School and Hume Center Performance Evaluations
- Tracking Paid Time Off (PTO) for all trainees
- Tracking accrued training hours being collected by Trainees
- Coordinate and schedule an onboarding orientation prior to the Training Year. Organize Board registration packet, submit it to the Board, and track submission and status
- Coordinate agency events by sending invitations, managing RSVPs, and supporting the planning and administration of the events in collaboration with Event Coordinator.
- Maintaining of Trainee files
- Coordinating the process of any Change of Assignments.
- Track contact information for alumni and provide support to alumni activities
OTHER
- Meet with Supervisor on a weekly basis for individual supervision.
- Participate and/or present in relevant meetings based on assigned area of work scope.
- Demonstrate an understanding of The Hume Center’s Philosophy, Organizational Culture, and
Organizational Channels of Communication through practicing an enabling model of working
together.
- Attend other required meetings.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Director, Vice-President and/or CEO.
Salary : $67,042 - $77,720
