As a Low Voltage Outdoor Lighting Technician:

You will support and learn all facets of the installation, service and replacement of lighting fixtures and equipment including but not limited to: wiring transformers, troubleshooting faulty lighting systems, installing underground wire, preparing fixtures for installation, connecting lighting fixtures, climbing ladders, cleaning fixtures, perform lighting maintenance when necessary.

The Ideal Candidate will possess the following skills / qualifications:

Low Voltage Outdoor Lighting Technician:

  • 1 plus years of experience in one or more of the following categories: lighting equipment, low-voltage electronics, electrical, cable tv, carpentry, copiers, HVAC, building maintenance, irrigation, landscaping, general labor, construction, etc... preferred, but not required. Training is available for the right candidate.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening.
  • Common electrical knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to work outdoors in the weather associated with the Chicagoland area.
  • Driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Must be driven to work with a diverse clientele and team to achieve company goals.
  • Assembles light fixtures and mounts them in locations per design, mount transformers, installs wire and connects wire runs.
  • Ability to use electrical meters to troubleshoot issues with lighting systems
  • Safely operate a variety of tools including hammer drills, power drills, saws, grinders and other tools as required.
  • Safely move, climb and utilize ladders up to 40' to perform necessary installation tasks.
  • Ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained to service clients.
  • Operate company vehicle in a safe manner, maintain a clean and orderly vehicle. Notify management of any vehicle accidents, malfunctions or damages.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven individual who is detail orientated.
  • Verbal & written communication skills. Ability to read and write English for reports and daily assignments.
  • Good time management skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task assignments.
  • Able to work effectively with individuals in a team environment.
  • Clean and professional appearance, punctual and dependable.
  • Work days are Monday - Friday and some occasional Saturdays.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to lift & carry items up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequently move the whole body to perform tasks such as, lifting, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling the handling of materials.
  • Stand or walk for periods of time.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch in awkward positions.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
