Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own all aspect of safety, including actively working to prevent injury, mitigate, track incidence, constantly communicate results, issues, and training related to safety
- Manage staffing requirement for each shift, secure proper staffing levels to meet customer demand and costs
- Mentor, coach, develop and hold accountable department personnel including Supervisors, Line Leads, and General Workers (through 121 mentoring and personal development of team)
- Understand training gaps, maintain skills matrix, cross train FT and Temporary employees
- Set and achieve departmental goals. Set individual goals, help team achieve them, as well as holding them accountable for personal development.
- Reduce lead-time, improve quality, cost using continuous improvement techniques, and methodology
- Communicate across shifts; create work plans, establish target goals for the day, and monitor progress against them.
- Continually seek out and drive the delivery of productivity and performance improvements
- Define and drive the analytics necessary to understand expenses and opportunities
- Field and answer any questions that may arise from Line Leads, Project Managers, or Sales personnel.
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes to improve customer service (e.g., delivery times, cycle times, etc.)
- Recommends hiring, wage adjustments, change in status, and terminations.
- Remain current on leading technologies and processes
- Responsible for the safety of all personnel and for assuring compliance with all safety procedures.
- Assure all equipment is operating and configured properly and assure an adequate flow of tools, supplies, and other needs to the workstations
- Monitor quality to identify defects as they are being produced so immediate feedback and correction can be applied
- Execute all special projects, actions, and continuous improvement initiatives with excellence
- Interview, hire, train & retain high performing team
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervise Kitting & Assembly team members including supervisors, line leads, setup support, and general workers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION
- Bachelors’ Degree or related experience preferred.
- Minimum 7 years related experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- High-level leadership and decision-making skills – experience with leading, motivating, influencing, and team building
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact with a diverse population ranging from front-line staff to senior management and customer contacts
- Entrepreneurial and “hands on” in nature, yet ability to operate in a systematic and logical manner
- Dynamic and results-oriented, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic.
- Change agent to support the optimization of our fulfillment methods
- Expert problem-solver adept at finding better ways to operate.
- Effective leader with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to accomplish objectives in a fast-paced, high-growth, and diverse environment.
- Proficient computer skills navigating Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to manage multiple shifts across a 6-day schedule.
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 35lbs.
- Ability to visually inspect all work for defects
- Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping
- Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
- Frequent walking and standing.
The national pay range for this role is $70,000- $100,000/year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
