The Inn at Harbor Shores has openings for the role of Front Desk Associate. The Inn at Harbor Shores is Southwest Michigan's Premier Resort. Our mission is to “Make it the best experience ever” for guests and associates alike. Our Front Desk Associates are a crucial part of the team. They act as the first point of contact for every visitor. The ideal candidate will offer world-class customer service to all visitors, while performing a wide variety of tasks accurately and effectively. Shifts available is 2pm-10pm with the occasional mid-shift.
Responsibilities
- Perform all check-in and check-out duties
- Manage reservations online and by phone
- Guide customers through various payment methods
- Accurately obtain, verify, and authorize credit card data
- Register guest profiles collecting all necessary information (including contact details, arrival & departure dates, and additional accommodation requests)
- Welcome every visitor and greet guests upon arrival, insightfully assign rooms, and politely request feedback at checkout
- Provide detailed information about our rooms, rates and the amenities we offer
- Respond to client complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Liaise with housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, comfortable, and fully-equipped to accommodate the needs of every guest
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure the entire facility is operating at peak performance
- Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services to event attendees, wedding guests, and VIP customers
- Upsell additional facilities, services, and room packages when appropriate
- Maintain updated records for guest stays, and effectively log important details and incidents throughout the entire hotel
Skills
- Experience working as a Front Desk Agent for a hotel, Receptionist, or similar customer service oriented role
- Understanding of travel websites like Booking.com, Expedia, and TripAdvisor
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- An upbeat, positive attitude, a responsible temperament, and a clean appearance
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
