Job Summary:
As a host at Tournedos, you will be the first point of contact for guests, welcoming them warmly and ensuring they have an exceptional dining experience. You will manage reservations, seating arrangements, and coordinate with other staff members to ensure smooth service flow. Responsibilities:
Guest Reception:
Greet guests with warmth and professionalism upon their arrival.
Escort guests to their tables, providing assistance as needed.
Ensure that guests' special requests and preferences are noted and accommodated.
Reservation Management:
Receive and manage reservations via phone, email, or online booking platforms.
Maintain an organized reservation system, ensuring accurate records and timely follow-up.
Manage the seating chart efficiently, optimizing table turnover and guest satisfaction.
Communication:
Effectively communicate with guests, providing information about the menu, specials, and restaurant policies.
Liaise with front desk, kitchen, event, bar, and dining room service staff to communicate guest preferences, special requests, and any relevant information.
Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback courteously and professionally.
Table Management:
Ensure tables are set impeccably with clean linens, polished silverware, and pristine glassware.
Monitor dining area cleanliness and ambiance, coordinating with support staff for timely clearing and resetting of tables.
Manage waiting lists during peak hours, keeping guests informed of wait times and offering alternatives as appropriate.
Coordination:
Collaborate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Coordinate special arrangements for private dining, events, or VIP guests.
Communicate effectively with management regarding any issues or concerns that may arise during service.
Hospitality and Upselling:
Create a welcoming atmosphere for guests, anticipating their needs and exceeding their expectations.
Promote menu items, specials, and wine selections to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
Encourage guests to join loyalty programs or subscribe to newsletters for future promotions and events.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a host/hostess or similar customer service role, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Strong organizational abilities, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of restaurant operations, including reservation systems and basic food and beverage terminology.
