What You’ll Do:
• 🏡 Residence Supervision: Assume responsibility for the residence in the absence of the Residence Manager, ensuring safety and compliance.
• 👥 Staff Supervision & Training: Assist in orienting, supervising, and evaluating Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensuring they follow proper procedures.
• 📝 Incident Reporting: Follow appropriate 624 procedures for reporting incidents and ensure proper documentation.
• 💼 Staff Scheduling & Payroll: Schedule staff coverage, verify time worked, and review time sheets and overtime records.
• 🧳 Support & Transportation: Accompany individuals on appointments and activities, helping teach daily living skills and assisting DSPs in doing the same.
• 🏠 Facility Maintenance: Assist with the upkeep of the residence and ensure the proper functioning of the physical plant, furnishings, and appliances.
• 💊 Medication Administration: Administer and verify the distribution of medication, maintaining accurate medication records (AMAP ledgers).
• 📋 Documentation & Reporting: Ensure proper documentation of activities, incidents, and other required reports, including daily logs, activity sheets, and trip evaluations.
• 🔥 Emergency Procedures & Safety: Conduct fire drills and emergency evacuation procedures, ensuring that both staff and individuals are prepared for emergencies.
• 🧑🏫 Training & Development: Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and required certification programs.
• 🧹 Cleanliness & Upkeep: Ensure the residence and grounds are kept clean and well-maintained.
• 🤝 Team Collaboration: Work alongside clinical support staff (nurses, therapists, psychologists) to provide individualized care and support.
What We’re Looking For:
• ✅ Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• ✅ Experience: Experience in a supervisory or direct care role, ideally working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• ✅ Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• ✅ Licensing/Certifications: Must maintain AMAP Certification for administering medication, and be able to pass all required training (CPR, SCIP, etc.).
• ✅ Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of OPWDD regulations, abuse and neglect policies, and agency procedures.
• ✅Valid NY State Driver’s License (6 points or less) and the ability to drive a 15-passenger van.
• ✅ Vaccination: Must be fully vaccinated (COVID-19).
• ✅ Other: Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to meet the operational needs of the residence.
Job Details:
📍 Primary Locations: Bronx, NY & Westchester County
🕒 Schedule: Full-Time 40HRS with on-call availability for emergencies.

Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- A Bachelor in psychology, social work, special education on related field with three years’ experience in combined clinical/managerial capacity.
OR
- A high School diploma and at least three years of experience in a supervisory capacity within the Human Services field.
Required Skills:
- Must provide direct and situational intervention when a individuals behavior requires it, including crisis prevention and physical crisis intervention.
- Must be capable of assisting in the evacuation of individuals during fire drills and other emergency situations.
- Must be capable of assisting non-ambulatory individuals in transferring from wheelchairs or other situations for toileting.
- Valid NY State Drivers License Required with 6 points or less
- Must be able to drive a 15 passenger van
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of IRA regulations
- Must be highly organized, able to work under pressure and multi-task
- Must maintain confidentiality of staff and individuals records
- Must be able to remain professional at all times
- Must Be Fully Vaccinated (COVID-19)
