Its performance space has welcomed some of the biggest names in comedy including Amy Poehler and Stephen Colbert. iO Theater offers a wide range of classes for all skill levels with a focus on longform improv and numerous showcases. Its high-energy, hilarious improv shows are a popular destination for audiences. New to the space, the popular northside restaurant Candlelite has expanded its footprint by opening “Candlelite Lincoln Park,” serving a full bar and menu, including their world-famous tavern style pizza.
Position Overview:
iO Theater is seeking an experienced senior accountant / controller who will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, budgeting and financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will play an essential part in administrative accounting tasks, consolidating accounting functions, improving financial reporting, and automating processes. The position is a dynamic, hands-on role with substantial growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting tasks, including updating books, journal entries, AP & AR processes, and ensuring accurate, organized records across QuickBooks and Sage Intacct.
- Prepare monthly / quarterly / annual financial statements; Create annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts.
- Work to consolidate accounting functions across various systems and entities, automating processes where possible to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
- Produce ad hoc analysis and profitability reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 5 years of accounting experience (background with operational businesses preferred).
- CPA Certification preferred or a candidate that is working on obtaining the CPA certification.
- Capable of managing end-to-end accounting processes, from bank account setups to tax returns and operational financials.
- Ability to present financial statements to senior management on a regular basis with MD&A and outlook.
- Experience and knowledge of QuickBooks and Sage Intacct accounting softwares.
- A proactive, go-getter attitude with a proven ability to work independently and see projects through from start to finish.
