The Indirect Tax Accountant (ITA) is primarily responsible for the preparation of indirect taxes including foreign VAT/GST/HST/SST in various foreign jurisdictions, covering 24 countries.

General Summary
The Indirect Tax Accountant (ITA) is primarily responsible for the preparation of indirect taxes including foreign VAT/GST/HST/SST in various foreign jurisdictions, covering 24 countries.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare indirect tax returns covering international multi-jurisdictions (Canada, EMEA, Oceania & Asia), as assigned
- Prepare and file for ESL and Intrastat (EU countries), as assigned
- Ensure all indirect tax returns and payments are timely filed and paid
- Work closing with third-party tax advisors
- Maintain tax calendar
- Prepare tax journal entries when appropriate
- Assist with indirect tax audits and notices
- Reconcile relevant tax GL accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis
- Perform tax research as needed/requested
- Assist with indirect tax audits and notices
- Provide support on various special projects
Education and work experience:
- Four-year degree in accounting or tax
- Indirect tax reporting experience with a company that operates in multi-jurisdictions is a plus
- This is an entry level position; however, some experience is a plus
- Knowledge of indirect taxes
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Self-motivated; able to work independently.
- Strong accounting principles knowledge
- Tax research skills a plus
