What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Supervisor, J Baseball/Softball position at The J?
Description
Reporting to Manager, Sports and Recreation, this position helps supervise on game days for J Baseball/Softball, a youth program. This position is active from April through mid-July and may offer a Fall option. Works approximately 10-20 hours/week including evenings and weekends.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in managing J Baseball Game Days by observing operations, responding to changing needs/conditions, providing hands-on assistance and communicating with coaches and parents
- Supervise baseball umpires
- Supervise and assist concession workers
- Assist in overseeing maintenance of the J’s five baseball fields and equipment, which may include hands-on field preparation
Requirements
- 1 years of experience in the recreation field
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to support evening and weekend programming
- Works well independently and with co-workers
- Excellent oral communications skills
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Experience supervising others is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to move freely around the Fitness, Sports & Aquatics facilities
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and push/pull 80 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time outdoors for up to 8 hours in various weather conditions
