Customer Service Specialist – Medical Billing & Claims
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Customer Service Specialist to join our clients team. Reporting to the Claims Manager, you will play a critical role in handling members' claims with accuracy, efficiency, and compassion. While prior experience in medical claims is not required, we value candidates with strong customer service skills and a willingness to learn.
Our client is a leader in providing emergency medical transport services and support, ensuring that members receive timely and quality care when they need it most.
Job Details:
- Hourly Rate: $20 per hour
- Start Date: ASAP
- Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
- Location: Fully onsite in Sunrise, Florida
- Employment Type: Long-term contract with potential for permanent conversion based on performance, budget, and business needs
Key Responsibilities:
Claims Review:
- Set up new claims, create claim forms, and scan claims for processing.
- Interact with providers to obtain necessary documentation for accurate claim adjudication.
- Evaluate coverage for submitted claims and verify coverage via internal systems.
- Attach supporting documents to claims and send out communication regarding claim adjudication processes to members.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Provide exceptional support to members, providers, and internal departments through phone, email, and chat channels.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, empathy, and active listening skills.
Product Knowledge:
- Develop expertise in product offerings, including benefit coverage, to effectively assist members.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare or insurance-related setting.
- Knowledge of medical codes, billing practices, policies, and procedures is a plus.
- Familiarity with Explanation of Benefits (EOB) forms.
- High school diploma required; some college coursework or higher education is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet service standards and benchmarks.
- Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment.
