Job Summary:
The Practice Manager under the supervision of the Director of Operations plans and directs the operational activities of the medical practices. They will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight/management of the staff to include both clinical and clerical employees. The position acts as primary point of contact responsible and accountable for the coordination and communication of information within the practice, among other practices, and to administration.
Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice location(s).
- Providing and/or facilitating office and support staff functions.
- Ensuring the gathering of administrative and financial data related to scheduling patients and collecting patient fee.
- Actively assisting with the administration of Health Center policies and procedures, assuring compliance at the practice level.
- Coordinates and participates in practice service activities in order to achieve continuous and optimal patient care.
- Assist in the development of policy and procedures to improve patient care and utilization of clinic resources.
- Assisting Senior Management in achieving the Health Centers operational and budgetary goals.
- Effectively manages assigned staff in a manner consistent with Health Center policies and values.
- Maintains effective feedback mechanisms with staff in order to enhance work processes and promote employee understanding.
- Overseeing the daily operations of the Health Center when it comes to supervising and scheduling the clerical and clinical staff.
- Adheres to established quality principles and standards established by the Health Center.
- Provide data required to document the experiences at the center.
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a Masters degree in Health Care Administration or a Bachelor's degree in Business, Management or health care related field with a minimum of 2 years of concurrent management experience within an ambulatory/physician practice setting.
- A minimum of 6 years management experience in an ambulatory/physician practice setting in lieu of degree or a combination thereof may be accepted.
- Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Certification preferred
