UNION RANGE $71,218 to $95,966 Salary $75,000 GRADE 14
TIME LIMITED DECEMBER 31, 2025 (EXTENSION DEPENDENT ON GRANT FUNDING)

As an integral part of Federation’s Ensuring the Jewish Future Strategic Initiative, the Families with Young Children Team is responsible for helping families with Jewish children under 12 feel a sense of connection and belonging by living a Jewish life that is joyful, meaningful, and relevant to their lives. When every Los Angeles family with young Jewish children feels connected to their identity and their community, we will have a thriving, resilient, and interconnected Jewish LA.
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION :
Reporting to the Vice President of Families with Young Children, the Program Manager, LA jBabies Community, works with families with children under 18 months to reinvent and reimagine what it means to be Jewish. The Program Manager will introduce new families to the value of Jewish literacy and PJ Library while also providing easy access to meaningful Jewish moments.

A Program Manager, LA jBabies Community, is a dynamic and engaging position for energetic, personable, and well-rounded people with a keen interest in community building for expectant Jewish families and families with newborns from birth – 18 months. Warmly referred to in the field as “Connectors”, you are passionate about building Jewish community and galvanizing new families in L.A. to “do Jewish” in a way that’s meaningful, relevant, and creates longevity. You are a social weaver, great at deep conversation, and
equally comfortable planning supportive baby groups and creative programming, intimate gatherings, and large-scale experiences.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES :
- Develop strategic engagement plans and organization of activities and connections for families with children under 18 months through five primary activities :
- One-on-one conversations
- Build, maintain, and grow facilitated baby playgroups for families with babies born within the same four-month period for families with babies 0-12 months.
- Organize diverse scales of ongoing gatherings or experiences for families with children 12-18 months.
- Empower intimate local gatherings.
- Support community-network organization events
- Identify resources necessary to implement playgroups.
- Develop, cultivate, and steward relationships with families with young children.
- Build a network of families raising Jewish children who receive PJ Library books through authentic, peer-to-peer relationships.
- Utilize a customer service relationship management system (Blackbaud) to track community-member involvement and participation, relationships, and event participation.
- Cultivate vibrant & meaningful Jewish life in target Los Angeles neighborhood / interest groups for families with young children in conversation with community partners, connecting the activities of LA jBabies with the existing community.
- Attend & staff Families with Young Children events & / or meetings, including PJ Library
- Develop, create, and manage impact stories of community members.
- Participate in strategic planning, grant writing, marketing, funder reporting as needed.
- Monitor expenses for program initiatives
- Visit new-parent offerings in target neighborhoods, both within and outside the Jewish community

Be available to assist supervisor and Sr. VP of Ensuring the Jewish Future with additional duties and assignments, as required, including assisting with the Campaign.
