We’re looking for a creative, data-savvy storyteller to lead and grow our social media presence. You’ll develop and execute strategy, create compelling content, and build meaningful connections across platforms—primarily Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

We’re looking for a creative, data-savvy storyteller to lead and grow our social media presence. You’ll develop and execute strategy, create compelling content, and build meaningful connections across platforms—primarily Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
POSITION SUMMARY:
What You’ll Do
- Lead Social Strategy: Own our social media roadmap to build awareness, drive engagement, and support engagement and fundraising goals. Includes: Setting platform-specific objectives and reporting on KPIs; creating content strategies that balance real-time storytelling, evergreen engagement, and campaign-focused initiatives; tailoring messaging to target audiences using insights from existing personas and engagement data.
- Create & Curate Content: Develop compelling, platform-specific content that integrates writing, visual design, and audience strategy. Create posts and produce multimedia assets in partnership with graphic designers or using branded Canva templates. Ensure each piece aligns with brand voice, engages the intended audience, and supports broader organizational goals. Includes: Managing a robust content calendar; repurposing existing long-form content (e.g., articles, blogs, videos, scripts) into engaging, bite-sized social media posts using tools like ChatGPT, Lately or Jasper; aligning all content with the organization’s brand guidelines; collaborating with team members to ensure timely content review; and optimizing content strategies through performance data and feedback.
- Manage Community Engagement: Help shape strategies to improve online engagement and visibility. Engaging with community interactions, including posts, comments, and messages from community members, donors, partner agencies—including local and national Jewish organizations, civic and interfaith partners, and key voices in our broader community—to build trust, strengthen relationships, and extend our reach. Includes: Addressing community member and donor inquiries and feedback in a timely and professional manner—independently or in partnership with relevant departments, as appropriate; and coordinating with external partners when needed to amplify social media campaigns.
- Support Campaigns & Events: Elevate community events and initiatives by producing timely, compelling content that drives awareness and participation. Includes: Planning and executing paid social media advertising campaigns, monitoring performance to maximize reach, engagement, and impact; and, when needed, developing social media toolkits for donors, influencers, panelists, and fundraisers to extend campaign reach and ensure message consistency.
- Analyze & Optimize: Track performance metrics and adjust tactics based on insights, using tools like Hootsuite, Google Analytics, and native platform analytics. Includes: Monitoring mentions and sentiment across social media platforms. Tracking and reporting on strategy performance. Providing insights and recommendations to improve results.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with internal departments—including Development, Planning & Engagement, Public Affairs, and Security—as well as external partners, to amplify messaging, ensure alignment, and drive shared outcomes. Includes: Collecting and summarizing information from multiple sources; coordinating with colleagues and partners to organize and produce social content; collaborating with Jewish and non-Jewish partners when needed to amplify messaging; and updating internal stakeholders on key successes and achievements.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience managing social media channels professionally.
- Strong writing skills and a clear visual eye.
- Proficiency with design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite) and scheduling platforms (e.g., Hootsuite).
- Knowledge of best practices for each platform (especially Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube).
- Experience with analytics and advertising tools—including Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and Google Tag Manager—as well as platform testing features such as Meta’s A/B testing tools and LinkedIn testing approaches (a plus).
- Familiarity with AI-driven content tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Lately, Jasper) to enhance content creation, repurpose materials, optimize engagement, and integrate with scheduling platforms like Hootsuite is preferred but not required. Willingness to learn and effectively utilize AI tools to improve performance and efficiency is highly valued.
- Passion for mission-driven work and community storytelling.
Bonus: Experience using AI-powered analytics and predictive tools to enhance social media strategy; experience with LinkedIn Ads for audience targeting and engagement; video editing; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing—particularly customer journey design and automation; and/or project management tools (e.g., Monday.com).
