The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist plays a crucial role in the healthcare industry by ensuring that medical services are accurately billed and coded for reimbursement. Key Responsibilities

Medical Coding:

• Reviewing patient charts and recording medical procedures and diagnoses using appropriate coding systems (ICD-10, CPT).

• Preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies and healthcare payers for reimbursement.

Communication

Compliance Audits

Experience/Qualifications

Education:

• GED or equivalent education is required.
• Additional certifications in medical billing and coding (e.g., AAPC, AHIMA) are preferred.

• Previous experience in medical billing and coding or a similar healthcare role
