Positions in this function is responsible for operating sonographic equipment and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.
Responsible for daily operations within the Imaging - Ultrasound Department, including patient schedules, reporting equipment failures, and quality assessment.
Primary Responsibilities: (In order of importance, describe 4-8 primary duties including what is done and why.

It is a summary of the most important tasks and their expected results) Following physician's orders, performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations. (OB, ABD, Small parts, and
Vascular)Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and imagesGreets, correctly identifies patient, prepares patient for examination and explains specific procedures to be performed in appropriate confidential areaAnalyses sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history and communicates findings to the appropriate physicianAccurately maintains patient imaging records, utilizing the Radiology Information System (R.I.S.), and PACS/Synapse application in accordance with HIPAA and company guidelines, policies and proceduresObtains pertinent medical history from the patient, prepares preliminary reports for radiologist and contacts referring physician when required according to established proceduresMaintains ultrasound equipment and work area, and ensures adequate supplies are available, contacts service as requiredMonitors PACs/Synapse and RIS databases for integrity of patient information and proper image transferMay also be assigned to other modalities provided incumbent is certified or licensed in those modalitiesWill comply with annual mandatory Fit Testing as a job requirement

Required Qualifications: Graduate of a formally accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography ProgramActive certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)Current CPR certification1 years of Ultrasound experience
Preferred Qualifications: 3 years of Ultrasound experienceExperience in breast ultrasoundKnowledge of sonographic equipmentKnowledge of sonographic procedures and diagnosisBasic computer skills, RIS and PACS
Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour.
