We are seeking a decision scientist, as a systems-minded problem solver, looking to apply advanced data analytics, statistics, cognitive engineering, modeling, game theory, quantitative social science, and/or advanced mathematics as a trusted agent for the Government. In providing vital mission engineering expertise to nationally important precision strike capabilities for the Department of Defense, you'll bridge domains, crafting analytical frameworks and software to drive decision making in alignment with mission goals.

As a member of our team, you will provide design insight for future technologies that support human decision-making in fast-paced, real-world operational environments. You will also provide decision science expertise to improve the judgment and decision-making of individuals, teams, and organizations through quantitative techniques and the application of appropriate technologies augmenting human intelligence. If you thrive on structuring uncertainty, designing models that matter, and turning abstract problems into actionable insights, we want to hear from you.

You will be joining a hardworking team of engineers and scientists who develop techniques, technologies, architectures, decision aids, and prototypes that enable warfighters to harness a broad set of assets to accomplish a variety of missions critical to our nation's defense. Our team is committed to ensuring mission success, as a central part of the system's design and development.

As a Decision Scientist within the Mission Engineering group ...

  • Your primary responsibility will be to apply decision science principles through thought leadership and practical expertise to the selection, design, development, and evaluation of complex decision support systems.
  • You will apply skills related to decision science, such as data analysis, data visualization, statistics, risk analysis, and operations research, to precision strike system development.
  • You will deliver formal presentations to sponsors and supporting contractors and effectively communicate critical decision points and supporting analysis for those decisions.
  • You will develop decision analysis teams and processes that provide effective and influential decision science perspectives on system design and development.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have a Ph.D. in Decision Science, Operations Research, Quantitative Social Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or another related technical discipline.
  • Have evidence of project work involving analysis of decision-making processes to enhance decision-making opportunities, minimize risks, drive innovation, and improve operational effectiveness.
