The Threat Analytic Systems (QAI) Group wants talented staff who can work as part of a team to design, implement, test, document, and maintain software applications that provide highly impactful capabilities. We provide ground-breaking technologies in response to a wide variety of national security threats. As a DevOps Engineer, you will...

• Interact with developers to understand their workflows and gather requirements.
• Design, create and support CI (continuous integration) pipelines for varied projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment.
• Maintain and improve containerized, flexible and scalable CI / CD (continuous deployment) systems.
• Keep up to date on the newest and best practices in DevOps, and bring those back to QAI.
• Seek new and innovative ways to improve task efficiency and document CI approaches.

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have...

• BA or BS in computer science or related engineering field plus a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
• Hands-on experience with Linux/Ubuntu and Windows
• Experience with Continuous Build and Delivery Systems, such as Gitlab, Argo CD, or Jenkins
• Experience with software build systems, such as gradle, bazel, or nix
• Knowledge of Containers (Docker) and Container Orchestration Systems (ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker Swarm/Data Center)
• Are able to obtain a Top Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have...

• Experience with Python and Java
• Knowledge of relational databases and non-relational/NoSQL databases
• Experience with Android build and deployment
• Mastery of Linux and shell scripting fundamentals
• Experience with Triplestores

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
