The Office of the Vice President and General Counsel at Johns Hopkins University is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Litigation & Contested Matters . Working with the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, and the Practice Group Leader for the Litigation & Contested Matters Practice Group, the AGC will be responsible for the assessment, strategic development, and case management of litigation involving the University. The AGC will develop and oversee litigation processes including legal hold management, discovery, motions practice, arbitration, and trials. Additionally, the Associate General Counsel will select and manage outside counsel.The Associate General Counsel will manage all aspects of disputes involving JHU, including demand letters, claims, and lawsuits. Examples include litigating : employment discrimination and wage and hour claims filed with government agencies; personal injury claims; breach of contract claims (including grant awards and sponsored research); discrimination claims including Title VII, Title IX, and Title VI claims, and labor arbitrations.
