Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, detail oriented part-time legal assistant/legal secretary for our growing Brooklyn office. Candidate must possess strong computer word processing skills, strong follow up, organizational, and receptionist skills. Must be able to function well under pressure and have strong multitasking skills. Candidate must also possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing answers, discovery demands and responses, motions and third-party actions
  • Preparing, amending and finalizing legal documents in support of attorneys
  • Drafting legal correspondence regarding court and EBT appearances and adjournments
  • Telephone contact with courts, clerks, clients and opposing counsel's offices
  • Updating and working within our case management system
  • Scanning, copying, and faxing
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be comfortable with working in a team environment
  • Must be comfortable with using technology in the workplace

Experience preferred but not required. Willing to train the right candidate.
