Responsible for managing a portfolio of group benefits clients, providing exceptional service, and ensuring successful plan implementation and renewals.
This role involves daily interaction with clients, carriers, and internal teams to deliver strategic solutions that meet the employee benefits needs of businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned client accounts regarding group health and welfare benefits.
- Manage client communications including plan options, claims, renewals, enrollments, and compliance updates.
- Assist in the implementation and onboarding of new employee benefits plans.
- Coordinate and lead client meetings, including open enrollment presentations and renewal reviews.
- Work closely with carriers and vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate rates, and resolve service issues.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed and maintained accurately in systems (e.g., CRM or agency management software).
- Monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA).
- Proactively identify opportunities for plan improvement, cost savings, or enhanced employee engagement.
- Collaborate with Account Executives, Producers, and other departments to support client objectives.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, product offerings, and legislative developments.
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 3 years in employee benefits account management or a related field (insurance, HR, etc.).
- Licensing: Active Life & Health insurance license required or must be obtained within a specified time.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant benefits software platforms (e.g., BenefitPoint, Ease, Zywave)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
