ComEd Instant Discounts Program – Inspector
Tasks may include:
• Contacting distributors, contractors, or end users to schedule inspections
• Scheduling up to 4 inspections per week or more across all ComEd Service Territory
• Conducting lighting, HVAC, and fork truck project inspections for verification of the materials installed
• Documenting, filing and reporting on complete inspections
• Typical inspections last up to 1 hour in a variety of environments
• Commercial and Industrial Inspections
• Inspections include:
o Verifying project documentation is representative of the true scope of the project
o Representing ComEd and DNV while directly interacting with customers and project
contractors
o Documenting the findings and writing detailed inspection reports
o Photograph all required equipment
o Uploading inspection results to a database
The ideal candidate will have:
• At least one - two years’ experience in energy efficiency services / renewable energy
• Must be able to prioritize and work both independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of lighting and HVAC technologies
• Willing to travel up to 100% of the time (throughout ComEd territory) and provide personal
transportation
• Ability to climb a fixed ladder or outside scaffolding and work at elevated heights such as rooftops
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written), customer service and phone skills,
organization, grammar, and spelling skills are essential
• Ability to work well under pressure in time-critical situations and be productive and self-motivated
• Ability to make quick decisions and pivot when need be
• Ability to be in the office when expected, prepared to report on past and future inspections
• Interested in learning all aspects of program implementation
• Comfortable communicating internally and externally with all levels
• Determination to achieve KPI goals
• Strong organization skills with planning and documentation
• Excellent time management skills, able to create and maintain an efficient schedule
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while meeting all inspection requirements i.e. ComEd logo, appropriate PPE
• AA Degree in Engineering or Licensed Electrician or related experience in energy, building, science or trades
