Legal Assistant & Case Manager

Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Case Management: Take ownership of 60 pre-litigation files, meticulously managing each stage from the initial engagement letter through to final disbursement.
- Insurance Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact with insurance carriers, skillfully identifying key contacts and drafting compelling Letters of Representation.
- Client Advocacy: Proactively assist clients in coordinating their medical care, ensuring they receive the necessary treatment and support.
- Efficient Record Management: Diligently request and process open records and medical records, maintaining accurate and organized documentation.
- Lien Resolution: Expertly identify and manage medical provider liens and health insurance subrogation claims.
- Strategic Demand Preparation: Organize and draft persuasive demand packages to insurance companies, highlighting the strengths of each case.
- Tech-Savvy Organization: Maintain up-to-date and accurate records within our cloud-based case management software.
- Client-Centric Communication: Serve as a compassionate and professional voice for our firm, providing regular updates and building strong client relationships.
- Team Collaboration: Support our Intake team by efficiently answering and prioritizing incoming phone calls.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Take initiative to anticipate needs, solve problems, and ensure smooth case progression.
- Policy Adherence: Consistently apply and uphold established firm policies and procedures.
- Adaptability & Growth: Embrace and implement new systems and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Deadline Driven: Consistently meet and exceed critical deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Required: Prior experience working as a Legal Assistant or Case Manager within a Personal Injury law firm.
- Essential Skills:
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of cases effectively.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively with insurance claims adjusters.
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred: Experience using Mac computers.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
